About me

Stephanie Alvarez, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #101766) with a commitment to motherhood and maternal mental health.

I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development and Family Studies from California State University, Long Beach in 2012. Then went on to pursue a master's degree at the University of Southern California, graduating in 2018. Since then, I have been actively practicing therapy while also cherishing the role of being a parent to two wonderful wild boys.

My primary focus has been on working with parents and children for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and Kaiser Permanente.

Alongside my educational background and substantial experience, I have undergone comprehensive training in trauma care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), perinatal mental health care, and lactation education. Currently I am a diplomat of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and certified by them as an expert Cognitive and Behavioral Therapist.
